Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&amp;R), also known as physiatry, is a specialty branch of medicine which focuses on restoring functional ability and optimizing the quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. Physiatrists often use a multidisciplinary approach to manage care for patients
with musculoskeletal and nervous system impairments.
The Physiatry Interest Group seeks to encourage student interest in this growing specialty. Overall, the goals of the Physiatry Interest Group are:
1. To raise awareness of Physical Medicine &amp; Rehabilitation role in patient care
2. To educate the medical student population on PM&amp;R topics
3. To create opportunities for student participation in PM&amp;R activities
4. To serve as a resource for students interested in pursuing PM&amp;R
