Cardiology is a subspecialty of internal medicine that focuses on diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases. It is one of the largest subspecialties, comprising of interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, non-invasive and invasive cardiology. It is well known that obtaining a cardiology fellowship is competitive.
The purpose of an official Cardiology Interest Group (CARDIG) is to expose medical students to the field of cardiovascular medicine and provide advanced opportunities in the field. CARDIG strives to serve both medical students and the local community. The hope is that the services provided by this interest group will augment student awareness and knowledge of cardiology.
